The workshop is confronted with what is considered different from us, with heterophobic conformism, with induced and self-produced fears, with what we are secretly attracted: nomadism, men and women who are on the margins of our so-called advanced civilization, living at the edge of our cities. It will be an opportunity to know an integrated community but at the same time deeply tied to its values and customs.

GYPSIES, two days of full immersion workshop, takes place in the heart of a Sinti community, and includes:

  • lectures
  • shooting
  • photo criticism
  • portfolio reading
  • work discussions
  • debate

“All that is easy is stupid, so one has to learn to forget easy photo virtuosity, because real photography is to stop on the image, that means to stop on the world. This suspense is never ultimate, and every photograph is different from all the others.
